Please help us identify this mystery knife.
What's it for?
Is it vintage?
Where's it from?
The whole thing is about as long as my arm. The blade is well anchored in the handle so it is remarkably easy to control. The blade has a curve to it and is NOT serrated. The stylish, wooden pointy handle doesn't seem like an American design. The blade is stamped, "Stainless Steel, Japan"
We have had many great guesses but none of them have born out so far, though I am still thinking some kind of cheese or dessert knife might be a possibility.
Things we don't think it is: art or clay cutting knife, sushi knife, melon or fruit cutting knife, knife for cutting meat on a spit, but we all agree the handle is ridiculous!
